Biography

Hansen is currently pursuing the Master of Performance programme of the Royal College of Music at Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA). He holds a Bachelor of Music (Honours) in Piano Performance from the Royal College of Music, where he studied under Dr. Nicholas Ong, and previously graduated with a Diploma in Music Performance with distinction from NAFA.He is the first prize winner of the 8th Lucien Wang Piano Competition and a recipient of the Lucien Wang Scholarship for his bachelor's studies. Recently, he was awarded Best Pianist at the NAFA Vocal Competition 2026. His notable competition achievements include 3rd prize and best etude winner of 1st Nanyang International Music Competition, 2nd prize winner of Batam International Piano Competition and special commendation in the NAFA Kris Foundation Concerto Competition 2019 where he had produced a digital recording of Beethoven: Piano Concerto No. 3 in C minor, Op. 37 under the baton of Maestro Lim Yau.Trained in collaborative piano with faculty members from Tainan National University of the Arts (TNNUA), including Dr. Ming-Ching Wu, Dr. I-Yi Pan, and Dr. Pei Chi-Hong, he is currently a graduate assistant at Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA). In this role, he works closely with the Vocal and Strings Performance classes as an accompanist.He has worked with renowned musicians such as Prof. Helen Krizos, Ms. Lena Ching, Prof. Dorian Leljak, Prof. Andreas Weber, Prof. Nelita True, Mei Yi Foo, Alexey Lebedev, and Przemyslaw Witek. As a recipient of the NAFA Talent Development Programme, he also participated in a masterclass with Prof. Gabriel Kwok at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (HKAPA).With 10 years of teaching experience, Hansen has taught students of all ages, tailoring lessons to each student’s needs and learning styles. He believes that music education will inspire the next generation to develop their own voice and personal character.
